We asked our teen panelists what the presidential campaign of Barack Obama meant to them. Here are just a few of the responses:

Mia - I think it's great that Americans are seriously thinking about electing a multiracial president. I think it shows how America as a whole has matured, and that they believe in him and his ability to do a great job leading this country no matter what race he is. I am proud of Americans for trusting him to possibly lead our country during the hard times we are going through.

Nico - Just like Barack, my mom is white American and my Dad is an immigrant from Central Africa. A lot of people have been questioning whether Barack is "Black enough" since his ancestors didn't come here as a result of slavery. Most people in the United States don't care how your family got here or what part of Africa they're from. If any of your ancestors came from Africa you're considered black by most Americans and you've probably had a "black experience" in this country.

Kendall - I just hope that people choose whether or not they vote for Barack Obama based on his politics and not his race. I think there are people who would vote for him just because they see him as black or multiracial and there are other people who would not vote for him for that exact same reason. Either one is wrong to me. Your race is not what makes you a good or bad president anymore than it makes you a good or bad person.

Justus - I think both Barack and Hillary are doing something amazing. They're proving that no matter what race or sex you are you can do whatever you want in life -- even run for president!
