Kids in Seattle are a significantly more diverse group than the rest of us. A slight majority (54 percent) of the under-18 population is white, compared with two-thirds of adult Seattleites. Kids are also more likely than adults to identify as multiracial. In fact, multiracial kids are the second-largest racial/ethnic group among the under-18 population, at 13 percent of the total.
